Job summary

Burns & McDonnell, in collaboration with 1898 & Co., seeks a Distribution Planning Project Manager to advance grid performance through advanced planning and studies such as load flow, reliability and interconnection analyses. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and drive proposals and project execution.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years in renewable generation, wind/solar, strong leadership, and travel willingness.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering
• MBA or engineering management is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of related experience with wind/solar renewable generation and 3+ years leading engineering or architectural projects
• Deep knowledge of electric utility industry, especially renewable generation facilities and electric utility systems
• Experience with wind/solar project development, design, and construction; energy storage a plus
• Proven ability to lead and train a team of engineers and analysts in renewable studies and design
• Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with diverse contracts

Responsibilities

• Business development: grow client relationships and lead proposals including planning, budgeting, and scheduling
• Project execution: manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and deliverables
• Leadership: mentor staff and contribute to industry leadership
• Lead multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts
• Identify new work opportunities and translate into consulting engagements
• Communicate project status and risks to stakeholders
