Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Distribution Planning Project Manager in Houston, TX to lead grid planning studies, improve distribution performance, and guide a team of engineers and analysts. You will drive business development, manage scopes, and deliver actionable results for utilities and stakeholders.

This role requires 5+ years in renewable generation and strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering or related field.
• MBA or engineering management is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with renewable generation (wind/solar) and at least 3 years in managing engineering projects.
• Deep knowledge of electric utility industry and renewable generation facilities.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and translate needs into project scopes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Business development: develop new and manage existing client relationships; lead proposal development and submission including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Project execution: lead scope, schedule, and budget; ensure deliverable quality; communicate status, risks, and costs to stakeholders.
• Leadership: mentor/train staff; act as an industry leader in power delivery planning and evaluation.
• Other duties as assigned.
