Job summary

1898 & Co., a unit of Burns & McDonnell, seeks a Project Manager focused on Distribution Planning. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to execute load flow, reliability, and hosting capacity studies for electric distribution systems and manage scope, schedule, and client communications.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring engineers and analysts, and advancing grid modernization efforts with DER integration and non-wires alternatives. Based in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience leading technical consulting engagements in power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver distribution planning studies and consulting projects.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage QA/QC, reporting, and documentation to ensure consistency across deliverables.
• Coordinate staffing and resources across internal departments and project managers.
• Identify risks, issues, and schedule changes and develop mitigation plans.
• Support business development and client engagement activities.
