Burns & McDonnell’s 1898 & Co. unit seeks a Transmission Planning Project Manager to lead planning studies, mentor engineers, and drive client relationships across North America. You will oversee scope, budgets, and schedules while coordinating engineers and analysts on complex power system projects.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with executives and clients to deliver resilient grid solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical preferred) or related field.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) is a plus.
5+ years of experience in transmission planning studies, with 3+ years in engineering project management.
Strong knowledge of electric transmission planning, standards, and regional markets.

Responsibilities

Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects from business development to execution.
Manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships, including scope, budget, and schedule.
Lead contract development, negotiations, and milestone tracking.
Mentor junior staff and promote technical excellence within the group.
