Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Analyst to support grid modernization engagements for electric utility clients. This early‑career role builds depth in grid operations, utility systems, and OT implementations as you work with Consultants and Architects across testing, documentation, and deployment activities.

You will contribute to configuration and testing of SCADA, OMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS and related applications, while developing technical notes, user guides, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering, business, computer science, MIS or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience preferred; internship/consulting experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; basic knowledge of implementation software and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration, testing, and deployment of grid management systems (SCADA, OMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS).
• Support advanced distribution applications including power flow, state estimation, FLISR, VVO, and DER integration.
• Perform data validation and basic analysis to ensure operational accuracy.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and defect documentation under guidance of senior staff.
• Document requirements, data collection, process notes, and create training materials.
