Job summary

A&K Railroad Materials is seeking a Great Lakes Region Sales Representative based in Gary, Indiana, to grow sales of railroad track materials across Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. You will work with customers and product managers to develop new business, manage existing accounts, and reactivate inactive customers.

Travel 8–10 overnights per month; use ERP and analytics to identify opportunities, provide weekly updates, and coordinate with sales and operations teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; railroad or industry experience may substitute.
• Proven sales record and ability to manage a multi‑state territory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with customer focus.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Grow sales of railroad track materials across the Great Lakes Region.
• Develop new business and manage/expand existing accounts.
• Reestablish relationships with inactive customers and support channel partners.
• Travel 8–10 overnights per month to visit customers and regional warehouses.
• Coordinate with product managers and use ERP/data analytics to identify opportunities.
• Provide weekly activity updates and forecasting to inform inventory and decisions.
