Job summary

Simmons Foods is seeking a batch operator in our production environment in Kansas. The role involves preparing batches of gravy ingredients per approved formulas, staging ingredients, and recording batch data. You will inspect bags for quality, weigh ingredients, and ensure totes are properly labeled and ready for use.

Ideal candidates will read batching sheets, follow safety and GMP guidelines, and contribute to team goals by maintaining a 15-batch lead time and supporting production schedules.

Qualifications

• Read and accurately interpret batching sheets and other production documents to determine order and quantity of ingredients.
• Stage ingredients to be batched and clean totes to contain batches.
• Record batch data including lot numbers, supplier, and batch plan numbers.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for contamination, foreign material, or off colors/odors.
• Weigh and batch ingredients, label totes, and stage them.
• Maintain production schedule by keeping the operator 15 batches ahead.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and workplace safety.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
