Job summary

Simmons Pet Food is seeking a production batch operator to prepare batches of gravy ingredients per approved formulas. You will read batching sheets, stage ingredients, record lot numbers, and ensure quality by inspecting bags and maintaining accurate records.

The role requires ability to lift 40–60 lb bags, operate with PPE, and work as part of a team following BEST practices in a manufacturing environment. English proficiency is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret batching sheets to determine order and quantity of ingredients.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for condition, foreign material, and spoilage.
• Record lot numbers, supplier, batch date codes and plan numbers accurately.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and document data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret batching sheets to determine order and quantity of ingredients.
• Stage ingredients for batching and ensure totes are clean.
• Record production data including lot numbers, suppliers and batch dates.
• Inspect bags for damage, foreign material, lumps, color or odor.
• Batch and weigh ingredients per card, label totes, and stage for next steps.
• Keep production 15 batches ahead per schedule.
• Clean and maintain gravy room and equipment; cover unused ingredients and seal bags.
