Job summary

Simmons Foods' Emporia, KS facility is seeking a Batch Operator to read batching sheets, stage ingredients, and record data for each batch. You will inspect bags, weigh ingredients, and label totes to ensure accurate batching and clean, orderly production areas.

The role requires English proficiency, teamwork, and adherence to GMP standards. PPE is provided, and the position supports a dynamic manufacturing environment at the Simmons Foods Hiring Center in Emporia.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment and adherence to GMP is preferred.
• Technical experience in machine operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret batching sheets to determine order and ingredient quantities, including pre-weighed references.
• Stage ingredients and clean totes to contain batches.
• Record production data: lot numbers, supplier, batch plan number; tag ingredients with date codes.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for condition, foreign materials, lumps, odor, color, infestation or expiry.
• Batch and weigh ingredients per card into totes; label and stage totes.
• Keep production ahead by about 15 batches according to schedule.
• Perform area cleaning and maintenance of gravy room, filtration systems, and dry ingredient areas; seal/open bags with dating.
