Job summary

Virginia Department of Health is seeking an Agency Grants Manager to support program development and grants management. The role focuses on intermediate-term issues with agency-wide application, including planning, monitoring, analysis and policy recommendations.

This restricted, grant-funded position ends 09/30/2027, with employment contingent on funds. Candidates should have strong knowledge of government accounting, grant management, and proficiency with Excel/Word/Access, and be able to work

Qualifications

• Knowledge of governmental accounting principles, policies, procedures & standards.
• Experience with state & federal grant financial management & reporting.
• Experience with federal time & effort reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage people & processes.
• Proficiency with Commonwealth Accounting System and PeopleSoft.
• Proficiency in Excel, Access and Word, with database applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor programs; analyze grants management and reporting.
• Recommend policies and procedures; research programs and regulations.
• Evaluate changes in rules and legislation for service impact.
• Work independently based on supervisor-approved work plans.
