Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced financial professional to manage post-award activities for grants, contracts, and clinical trials within SPFS. Responsibilities include award setup, invoicing, cash management, and reporting to ensure GAAP and sponsor compliance.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with clinical research financials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or relevant experience as determined by the company.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting and financial analysis in clinical research or healthcare preferred.
• Ability to resolve complex financial/compliance issues with sound judgment.
• Deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trial setting and compliance/auditing background.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with grant/contract terms, sponsor guidelines and federal/state regulations.
• Invoice promptly, manage accounts receivable, and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare monthly close entries and financial statements; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Generate simple to complex financial reports and address discrepancies.
• Complete project closeout documentation and ensure all costs are properly allocated.
• Assist auditors with required documentation and internal controls.
