Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a unit manager to plan, organize, and develop goals for a department, represent the unit to administrators and external partners, and supervise subordinate staff.

This position emphasizes grant budgeting, pre/post‑award administration, and meticulous record keeping, with monthly financial reporting to state and federal grantors; a stable, mission‑driven workplace with strong growth opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience OR a combination of education and supervisory experience to equal seven years.
• Preferred: financial/accounting background.

Responsibilities

• Budget & Financial Management: Create, review, and manage grant budgets, track expenditures, and process payment for grant expenditures according to TTUHSC policies and procedures.
• Pre-Award & Post-Award Administration: Research funding opportunities, assist in drafting proposals and applications, and manage post-award reporting, monitoring, and audit preparations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation for grant-funded personnel, time-and-effort certifications, inventory, and project milestones.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and state/federal agencies, providing training and technical assistance to internal staff and external partners.
