Job summary

UTMB Health seeks an Associate Director to lead government-regulated externally funded research activities within the Office of Research Services. You will guide post-award grant management, assist investigators with complex proposals, and ensure compliant financial reporting for faculty and departments.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with PI teams, and respond to sponsor stipulations while leveraging eRA Commons and related systems to support project submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Eight years of experience in research administration.
• Strong knowledge of federal regulations governing academic medical center research.
• Two years of prior management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision of post-award grant management.
• Assist principal investigators with complex grant and contract proposals.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for grants and faculty.
• Monitor time and effort reporting and certification.
• Advise investigators on grant applications, deadlines, and projections.
• Review and administer budgets, contracts, and compliance documentation.
• Manage data entry in grants databases and use online portals for submissions.
