Job summary

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Institute of Human Virology (IHV) seeks a Business Development/Proposal Manager to oversee grant planning, narrative development, and reporting for diverse programs.

You will coordinate NIH/CDC submissions, manage budgets and subcontracts, and identify strategic opportunities while ensuring compliance and strong communications with sponsors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: Four (4) years of program oversight including planning, budget, and coordination; minimum of 4 years of grant writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and coordinate grant requirements and milestones including progress reports and budgets.
• Coordinate proposal and narrative development for NIH/CDC submissions and other funders; write for scientific and lay audiences.
• Manage subcontractors, subgrants, and consultant relationships; ensure compliance with work plans and deliverables.
• Provide advanced administrative support to leadership and faculty; perform data analyses and program coordination tasks.
• Identify, pursue, and facilitate business development opportunities and partner relationships.
