Job summary

Tallahassee State College is seeking a Career Development Specialist to support incarcerated participants with Compass 100 Hybrid and in-cell assignments under the supervision of the Lead Educator. This is a full-time, grant-funded role at the DOC Madison Correctional Institution.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Ability to work with Compass 100 Hybrid and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating employability and life skills, administration and interpretation of assessments, and training to include the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
• Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator. Providing facilitation of employability and life skills programs. Providing administration and interpretation of assessments.
• Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid through a small group setting to eligible participants who are not in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator and other programs as determined by the Department. Providing facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to include pre-release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format. Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
