Job summary

Tallahassee State College in DeFuniak Springs, FL, is seeking a Career Development Specialist for a full-time, grant-funded role. You will administer assessments and deliver the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program, supporting inmate transition and pre-release employment planning.

Responsibilities include documenting services, reporting attendance and completions, and coordinating with Pre-Release Employment Navigators and community partners to assist with job readiness and supplier events.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma.
• Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret assessments.
• Deliver the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum.
• Deliver other programs as determined by the Department.
• Maintain and provide documentation of services delivered.
• Report monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the DC5-149 form.
• Provide information on pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning.
• Assist Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment and readiness portfolio development.
• Interact with participants face-to-face and via technology-based methods.
