Job summary

Tallahassee State College in DeFuniak Springs, FL is seeking a Career Development Specialist for a full-time, grant-funded role with the FDC – Walton CI. The position focuses on counseling and supporting participants through transition skills and pre-release employment planning.

Responsibilities include administering assessments, delivering the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with community providers and recruiters to facilitate successful re-entry

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or high school diploma with 2 years in workforce development, social services or corrections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Administration and interpretation of assessments
• Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum
• Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department
• Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 (Attachment #2)
• Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officer’s
• Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions
