Job summary

Tallahassee State College is hiring a Career Development Specialist for the Brooksville, FL facility. This full-time, grant-funded position focuses on delivering the 100‑Hour Transition Skills Program, administering assessments, and coordinating pre-release employment connections for inmate release planning.

You will document services, report attendance and outcomes, and support the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events and mock interviews.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or high school diploma required and two years of professional experience in workforce development, social services or corrections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Bonus points if you have an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.

Responsibilities

• Administration and interpretation of assessments.
• Delivery of the 100‑Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum.
• Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department.
• Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form.
• Providing information pertaining to pre‑release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services.
• Assisting the Pre‑Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre‑release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions.
