Job summary

Urbana School District #116 – Thomas Paine Elementary School is seeking a coordinated leader for the 21st Century CCLC / Reading Rally program. The role oversees planning, staffing, and daily operations for grades 2–5, aligned with grant requirements and district procedures.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate energy, creativity, and flexibility to work extended hours and to collaborate with district partners, teachers, and families to expand college and career readiness through engaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
• Master’s degree and/or Administrative endorsement is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience coordinating grant-based programs.
• Experience with community organizations; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the grant-based after-school program in accordance with district and grant policies.
• Assist administrative team in planning, designing the program, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
• Engage staff to develop instructional and assessment practices linking the school day curriculum with the extended day program.
• Work with staff to outreach and actively engage students and families in the program.
• Facilitate development and selection of project-based enrichment programming focused on College and Career Awareness.
• Develop procedures and policies for operation of the after-school program.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise staff; plan staff schedules and timesheets; arrange substitutes.
• Maintain student enrollment records, schedules, and all documentation.
• Meet regularly with extended-day staff; conduct orientation trainings and staff development.
• Collaborate with community partners to plan and implement program components; orient partners.
• Promote and market information about the after-school program to students, parents, and the community.
• Maintain and reconcile budget documentation; report to administrative team.
