Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a grain handling associate in Iowa to support facility operations. You will weigh and grade grain, manage scale receipts, and operate loading equipment to receive and ship products.

You will assist with logistics, inventory control, and environmental safety compliance. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work extended hours during harvest seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow safety policies and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to extend hours during grain harvest season.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain and grain products to meet specs.
• Prepare scale receipts and enter deliveries into the database.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment for shipments and receipts.
• Inspect grain facilities daily to ensure equipment and stored grain quality.
• Assist in scheduling logistics for inbound and outbound grain.
• Maintain inventories and track grain movements and blending.
• Identify problems and work with the facility manager on solutions.
• Interact with customers daily and ensure quality service.
• Support safety programs and environmental compliance.
• Understand and apply the company emergency notification process.
