Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a grain handler responsible for weighing, grading, and managing grain movements and inventory. You will operate loading/unloading equipment and help schedule inbound/outbound logistics while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires good communication, teamwork, and flexibility to work during harvest seasons. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work extended weekday and weekend hours during grain harvest seasons.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain and products; prepare scale receipts and enter deliveries.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment to ship or receive grain products.
• Inspect grain facilities daily to ensure equipment and grain quality.
• Assist facility manager with scheduling logistics for inbound and outbound grain.
• Maintain inventories and manage grain movements and blending to maximize profitability.
• Identify problems or improvements and coordinate with the manager for solutions.
