Job summary

Bartlett Co. in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking an Elevator Operator for 1st shift (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday with overtime). You will manage grain receiving, storage, handling and loading, while keeping facilities safe and well-maintained.

Cross-training enables you to perform multiple tasks around conveyors and grain-handling equipment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and English literacy to follow instructions.

The Basics

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Compensation: $21.00/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 1st shift, 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday with overtime as needed, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What you’ll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check

• You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
