Bartlett Co. in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking an Elevator Operator to join our grain-handling team. This is a hands-on role involving receiving, storing, drying, blending and loading grain, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position is 2nd shift, 2pm to 12 midnight, Monday through Thursday with overtime and possible weekend hours. Compensation starts at $23.00 per hour, with benefits including health/dental/vision, PTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
• Available to work overtime and weekends.
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications).
• Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
• Monitor stored grain condition and maintain grain facilities and equipment for a safe environment.
• Cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks in the grain elevator operations.

The Basics

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Compensation: $23.00/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 2 nd shift, 2pm to 12midnight, Monday thru Thursday with overtime as needed, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What you’ll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
