Job summary

Bartlett is seeking a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator in Council Bluffs, IA. You will handle grain receiving, storage, and loading, and help maintain safe, clean facilities. This role requires reading and following written/verbal instructions in English and a safety-conscious approach.

Typical shifts are 1st shift, 6am–4pm, Monday–Thursday with overtime and potential weekend hours. A high school diploma or GED is required, and the company offers a range of benefits and a strong safety culture.

The Basics

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Compensation: $21.00/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 1st shift, 6am to 4pm, Monday thru Thursday with overtime as needed, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What You’ll Be Doing

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements To Be Successful In This Position

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check

• You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces

• You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
