Job summary

Bartlett Co. in Council Bluffs, IA invites applicants for a Grain Elevator Operator role. This hands-on position covers grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, loading and equipment upkeep to keep operations safe and efficient.

Shift is 1st, 6am–4pm, Monday through Thursday with overtime as needed (including weekends). Requires high school diploma or GED and ability to read, write and follow English instructions. Background check and reliable transportation are required.

The Basics

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Compensation: $21.00/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 1 st shift, 6am to 4pm, Monday thru Thursday with overtime as needed, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What you’ll be doing:

The duties of this hands‑on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross‑trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekendsProfessional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check
