Job summary

Mid Kansas Cooperative in Abilene, KS, seeks a Location Manager to oversee grain elevator operations, maintenance, and quality control while supporting seed and feed sales. You will supervise staff, assist customers with inquiries, and lead special projects under the area manager.

The role requires strong management, extensive knowledge of grain handling and safety regulations, and the ability to work independently. A CDL with HazMat and a grain fumigation license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related field or five years experience in grain/agronomy.
• Ability to obtain and retain a Class 7B grain fumigation license.
• Obtain and retain a Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement.
• Strong management and supervisory capabilities.
• Knowledge of corn, wheat, beans, milo, and sunflowers.

Responsibilities

• Receive and ship grain efficiently using available staff.
• Maintain grain quality and improve procedures for higher grades.
• Blend grains to maximize grade and price.
• Provide grain drying services and report grades to the office.
• Inspect and report quality by grade and quantity.
• Ensure safety compliance and train staff monthly.
• Maintain NH3 equipment and supply to customers as needed.
