Job summary

Mid Kansas Coop is seeking a capable Grain Elevator Supervisor to direct operations, maintenance, cleanliness, and product quality control for the grain elevator while overseeing feed, petroleum sales, and assisting the Agronomy Manager with seed and anhydrous ammonia sales.

You will supervise all personnel, weigh grain trucks, and ensure accurate grain settlements with customers, reporting to the location manager.

Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in a related agricultural field or five years of grain business experience.
  • Operational knowledge of corn, wheat, beans, milo, sunflowers.
  • Knowledge of seed, feed, petroleum, and ammonia.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical journals.
  • Ability to supervise both full- and part-time staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping for grain transactions including tickets, settlements, and filings.
  • Run scale, test grain, assign inspection grades, and input data into the system.
  • Handle ag-trax accounting and invoicing.
  • Enter invoices and manage new accounts efficiently.
  • Maintain positive teamwork and customer relations.
  • Greet customers, assist with loading/unloading, and resolve issues with the location manager.
