Work Hours
1st shift, 6am to 4pm, Monday‑Thursday. Additional hours and weekends may be required.

Role Overview
The Shift Manager is responsible for providing training, support and assistance to hourly team members and maintaining a safe, sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Specific Duties
- Commitment to worker safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, drying, storage, aeration and fumigation of grain.
- Effectively assist with the supervision and management of personnel and operational activities.
- Assist with managing the business to plan according to pre‑set objectives.
- Be familiar with all operations, systems, policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
- Weighing or measuring materials and products using scales or other measuring instruments to verify specified tonnages.
- Manipulating controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment, or conveyors, and to adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows.
- Recording and tracking data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime.
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and work stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants.
- Observing conveyor operations and monitoring lights, dials, and gauges to maintain specified operating levels and detect equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with preventative maintenance protocols and elevator operations.
- Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with both senior management and supervised team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in agricultural mechanics, business or related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a grain handling facility or similar environment.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English for safety reasons.
- Available to work overtime and weekends.
- Professional demeanor: safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
- Job can be physically strenuous.
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights and ascend/descend ladders.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
- Must wear PPE as required.
