Job summary

Graphcore's AI Engineering Campus in Austin is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to contribute to mechanical design, thermal validation, and verification of advanced AI hardware. You will work with experienced engineers across disciplines, performing 3D CAD (Creo), prototype testing, data analysis, and documentation to support development of data-center systems.

This entry-level role expects a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, good problem-solving, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering completed recently or expected.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Experience using 3D CAD to create parts/drawings through coursework or projects.
• Ability to plan work, analyze data, and document results clearly.
• Structured problem-solving and teamwork across disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and update mechanical parts, assemblies, and drawings using Creo or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Take ownership of defined mechanical design tasks from requirements to verification.
• Apply principles of mechanical design, materials, manufacturing, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Develop mechanical and thermal test plans for prototypes and development systems.
• Set up and operate lab equipment, collect data, analyze results, and document conclusions.
• Evaluate prototypes and identify issues in mechanical, thermal, or manufacturability areas.
• Support design verification, troubleshooting, and implementation of improvements.
• Maintain engineering documentation including notes, drawings, procedures, and change records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Present progress and recommendations in design/test reviews.
• Follow engineering processes, configuration control, lab procedures, and safety rules.
