Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to mechanical design and thermal validation of AI hardware in Austin. You will gain hands-on experience with 3D CAD, lab setup, test development, prototype evaluation, and engineering documentation.

Applicants should be enrolled in a mechanical engineering degree program and demonstrate basic knowledge in design, heat transfer, and materials.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, materials, or related engineering principles.
• Ability to approach technical problems analytically, document work, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to mechanical design activities using Creo or comparable 3D CAD software under guidance.
• Collaborate with the thermal engineering team to develop test procedures and set up lab capabilities.
• Support thermal and mechanical testing using lab equipment; collect, organize, and analyze data.
• Assist design teams with prototype evaluation, troubleshooting, and documentation of findings.
