Graphcore, a global AI computing pioneer, seeks a Graduate Systems Engineer in Austin to contribute to CPU subsystem design, integration, validation, and performance analysis of advanced AI compute platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or closely related field, completed recently or before start.
• Strong foundation in computer architecture, digital systems, embedded systems, hardware‑software interaction, or system‑level engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory testing and technical measurements through coursework, research, internships, or projects.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C, C++, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, integration, and testing of CPU and high‑speed I/O subsystems.
• Own defined engineering tasks from requirements and test planning through execution and review.
• Develop system‑level validation plans, procedures, scripts, and tools to improve test coverage and data collection.
• Evaluate platform performance, power, signal behavior and reliability using laboratory measurements and system data.
• Investigate PCIe 6.0 and 800G Ethernet and assess their use in advanced computing systems.
• Support platform power, cooling, and energy‑efficiency investigations including liquid‑cooling systems.
• Use power meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers to execute tests and gather evidence.
• Analyze unexpected behavior, reproduce issues, perform root‑cause investigations, and verify corrective actions.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, thermal, and systems teams to resolve integration issues.
• Maintain accurate requirements, test procedures, scripts, data summaries, and change records.
• Present progress, results, risks, and recommendations clearly following engineering procedures.
