Graphcore, a leader in AI hardware, seeks a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for its Mech/Thermal Platform in Austin. You will design, validate, and verify advanced AI hardware, using Creo for parts and drawings, and work with cross-disciplinary teams across lifecycle stages from concept to release.

Recent grads or early-career engineers contribute to thermal management, data analysis, and documentation while learning from seasoned engineers in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics and materials.
• Experience using 3D CAD software to create parts, assemblies and drawings.
• Ability to plan technical work, analyze test data and document results.

Responsibilities

• Create and update mechanical parts, assemblies and drawings using Creo or similar CAD.
• Own defined design tasks from requirements through design, release and verification.
• Apply design principles to materials, manufacturing, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
• Develop mechanical and thermal test plans for prototypes and systems.
• Set up lab equipment, collect data, analyze results and document conclusions.
• Evaluate prototypes and identify mechanical, thermal, or manufacturability issues.
• Support design verification, root-cause analysis and design improvements.
• Maintain engineering documentation including notes, drawings and test results.
• Collaborate with thermal, electrical, hardware, systems, manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
• Present progress, results, risks and recommendations in reviews.
• Follow engineering processes, configuration control, lab procedures and safety rules.
