Job summary

Graphcore in Austin is seeking a Mechanical and Thermal Laboratory Technician to support development and validation of advanced AI hardware for data center environments. You will execute mechanical and thermal testing, assist with prototype fabrication, and help with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

The role requires hands-on lab work, familiarity with CNC milling and shop equipment, and the ability to read drawings and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• Equivalents considered (experience or degrees in other fields).
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical labs, machine shops, test labs, or similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and thermal test plans to validate hardware and cooling solutions.
• Perform functional, thermal, and mechanical testing on server and data center hardware.
• Support engineers in testing, debugging, and validation of hardware platforms.
• Operate lab and machine shop equipment, including CNC milling machines and drill presses.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are calibrated and maintained.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents.
