Job summary

Highmark Health offers the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship for graduates to apply advanced data science, ML, and AI techniques to clinical and healthcare challenges.

Interns collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers—on innovation using healthcare data. Tracks include Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Pursuance of a graduate degree full or part‑time in an accredited college or university.
• Currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Receive guidance and mentoring from senior personnel while contributing to day‑to‑day objectives.
• Undertake and participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Plan and implement unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
