Highmark Health is offering the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship. This program invites graduate students to apply machine learning, AI, and software engineering to healthcare challenges, using clinical and insurance data.

Interns collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers across four tracks: knowledge graphs, medical imaging, predictive modeling, and AI applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in a related area (full or part-time).

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with diverse groups to plan assignments and resolve issues.
• Under supervision, provide professional data science services aligned with business objectives.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Assist in planning and implementing unit projects within domain expertise.
• Conduct research and prepare recommendations or alternatives for action.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs to meet objectives.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
