Job summary

Highmark Health is offering the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Graduate Internship. The program enables graduate students to apply advanced data science, ML, AI, and software engineering to healthcare challenges.

Interns will work with a multidisciplinary team to build innovative analytics solutions, assess models, and showcase findings. Four tracks align with technical backgrounds: Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or pursuing graduate degree.
• Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in CS, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, EE, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Participate in research projects across four tracks: Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, AI Applications.
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers.
• Contribute to model evaluation, experimentation, and communication of findings to technical and business audiences.
• Engage in mentorship, collaboration, and applied research to strengthen technical expertise.
