Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to participate in the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship, applying advanced data science, ML/AI, and software engineering to real healthcare challenges. Interns collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers on high‑impact projects using clinical, medical, and insurance data.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
Pursuance of a graduate degree full or part‑time in an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving problems.
Under supervision, provide professional services aligned with day‑to‑day objectives; receive guidance and mentorship.
Undertake and/or participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
As requested by management, conduct research and reporting including recommendations or alternative proposals.
Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the operating unit.
Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
