Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer I for our McAllen, TX office. You will assist in designing and producing construction plans for municipal projects including roads, drainage, water, sewer, parks, and site design, under PE mentorship.

A strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative setting is ideal. The role focuses on learning CAD, Civil 3D, and related design tools, with growth toward licensure and independent project responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Experience with CAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to solve design challenges and create construction plans for local infrastructure projects.
• Use design software and drafting tools to display calculations, layouts, and concepts for construction plans.
• Draft reports and present plans to diverse audiences, translating technical information into accessible concepts.
• Estimate construction costs and quantities, perform site visits, and review submittals.
