Job summary

Halff is seeking new graduates to join our Dallas, TX office as Graduate Civil Engineer I. You will assist in designing and producing construction plans for municipal projects, including roadways, storm drainage, water and wastewater facilities, parks, and site work.

You will work under mentors to grow professionally, using CAD tools to communicate calculations and layouts, and drafting reports for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• Current Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment for civil improvements.
• Able to balance multiple objectives and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other design software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering team to design and produce construction plans for local infrastructure projects.
• Use design software and drafting tools to display calculations, layouts, and concepts for construction plans.
• Draft reports and present plans to audiences with varied backgrounds and knowledge.
• Estimate construction costs and quantities, conduct site visits, and review contractor submittals.
