OHM Advisors, a leading Community Advancement firm, seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer in Detroit to support planning and design tasks across multiple service areas. You will work with senior staff to deliver people-centered solutions and gain exposure to diverse civil projects.

The role emphasizes data collection, design calculations, CAD development, and collaboration in a team-driven environment. EIT certification is preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Internship or co-op in civil engineering strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in data collection and analysis to support project development.
• Perform design calculations and investigative analyses for assigned tasks.
• Assist in preparing plans, specs, cost estimates, and supporting documents.
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation) to develop design drawings.
• Review project plans for technical accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Help schedule and coordinate tasks to meet project timelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to design reviews.
• Maintain organized project files and design documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
