Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer II to support public infrastructure projects including roadways, drainage, water and wastewater facilities, parks, and trails.

You will work under Professional Engineers, advancing design work and documentation with Civil 3D and other software, while growing project-management and client-service skills. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in civil engineering (ABET accredited) and FE exam progress; Texas EIT license

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s in civil engineering (ABET-accredited).
• FE exam passed and PE exam in progress.
• Texas EIT license within 1 year is required.
• At least 2 years of public infrastructure experience.
• Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and preparation of construction documents for public infrastructure and land development projects.
• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Lead production staffing at the Intern and Graduate Engineer I level.
• Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations related to grading, drainage, utilities and alignments.
• Utilize Civil 3D and other software to develop models and drawings.
• Coordinate with PMs, surveyors, architects, contractors, and regulators.
• Assist with permit applications, agency coordination, and regulatory compliance.
• Support construction phase services and project progress reviews.
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions to grow PM and client-service skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Halff offices.
