Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Graduate Assistant for UT Social Work Development & Constituent Relations on the UT Main Campus. The role provides hands-on experience in fundraising, donor communications, events, and database updates while supporting daily office operations.

You will work 20 hours per week as a student employee, gaining exposure to donor relations, event planning, and university operations while building professional skills in communication and organization.

Qualifications

• Enrolled graduate student at UT Austin (minimum 3.0 GPA).
• Strong professional interpersonal communication, administrative and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion in the workplace.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• General administrative duties.
• General office work including updating UT databases and assisting with expense reports.
• Assisting with thank-you letters to donors.
• Assisting with planning and executing in-person events sponsored by the UT SSW Development team.
• Ability to lift approximately 20-25 lbs. on occasion.
• Providing support with graphic design projects and writing assignments.
• Work will be completed primarily in-office, with occasional flexibility around virtual work.
