Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an entry-level architectural assistant who will perform basic architectural assignments, produce design iterations, observe construction, and support senior staff under supervision.

You will collaborate with senior staff, prepare studies and reports, assist in shop drawings, and help ensure design intent and compliance with codes while gaining licensure prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• 0-3 years of related experience.
• Must establish NCARB record for licensure preparation.
• Ability to obtain Architectural license in applicable state(s).
• Must complete licensure training within the established time frame.

Responsibilities

• Consult with senior staff to determine functional and spatial requirements and prepare related information.
• Project research, field work, observation, and preliminary design calculations.
• Prepare studies and reports and assist in designing concepts and layouts.
• Visit project sites to observe conditions and support senior staff with design integration.
• Assist in shop drawing review and site coordination.
