Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an entry-level architect to perform basic architectural assignments under direct supervision.

You will produce design iterations, compile data, and prepare project plans while observing construction in the field. Under the guidance of licensed architects or senior project managers, you will support tasks on projects of limited complexity, engage in site visits, and help integrate engineering elements into unified design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
• 0-3 years of related experience
• Must establish and maintain a personal NCARB record in preparation of licensure examinations
• Ability to obtain Architectural license in applicable state(s) within established time frame

Responsibilities

• Consult with senior staff to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation
• Prepare design iterations, concepts, and graphic illustrations
• Visit project site to understand existing conditions and inform design decisions
• Assist in generating and editing layouts, technical plans, details, and specifications
• Assist in shop drawing review and coordination with engineering elements
• Participate in project meetings with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
