Job summary

Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, invites applications for a Graduate Administrative Assistant in the Art & Design Department. The GAA will assist faculty and staff with preparation and cleanup, projects, and clerical duties, with duties assigned by the department.

Positions are filled based on applicant skills; study status required; work 20 hours/week during semester or 16 weeks in summer.

Qualifications

• Graduate student status required and enrollment in degree program during assistantship.
• Must meet the department's academic and enrollment requirements for the term.
• Compliance with JSU policies, FERPA and sexual harassment training is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists Art Faculty/Staff with preparation and cleanup.
• Supports projects and other department tasks as assigned.
• Performs clerical and administrative duties as needed.
• Takes on additional duties as required by the department.

Education

Must be classified as a degree-seeking graduate student at JSU

Active enrollment in graduate degree program at JSU during assistantship

Admission to a degree program (new student)

Active enrollment in required coursework towards degree

Minimum GPA as required by degree program

Enrolled in six to nine graduate semester hours in fall/spring or six to nine in full summer term

Not holding another campus job

Cannot receive other forms of tuition scholarships or waivers outside JSU

FERPA and Sexual Harassment training required

International graduate assistants must be certified for duties/compensation
