Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools in Washington state is seeking a replacement K-12 teacher on a 1.0 FTE, 7.5-hour day contract for the 2026-2027 year. The position offers full benefits and a salary range from $75,462 to $147,998, depending on degree & credential levels, with 182 workdays per year.

The replacement contract ends on the last student day in June 2027 or when the staff member on leave returns, whichever occurs first. Compensation includes benefits accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with appropriate educational endorsement.
• Alternatively, any combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills and ability.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and strategizes a program of study based on students' learning needs.
• Assesses student progress and maintains grades reflecting achievement.
• Implements district education goals and manages classroom behavior.
• Prepares lesson plans and provides differentiated instruction.
• Communicates with students, parents, and staff to discuss progress.
