Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a licensed classroom teacher for a replacement position for the 2026-2027 school year. The role starts as soon as possible and is 1.0 FTE with 7.5 hours per day over 182 workdays.

Salary is based on preparation level and experience per the TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, with a range from $75,462 to $147,998, plus a full benefits package. Endorsements and a valid WA teaching certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with appropriate educational endorsement.
• Valid Washington State teaching certificate.
• Fingerprinting and background clearance per district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides instruction aligned to district curriculum and student needs.
• Assesses student growth and maintains grades and progress reports.
• Maintains classroom behavior and fosters a respectful learning environment.
• Communicates with parents/guardians about student progress and needs.
• Collaborates with staff and participates in district professional development.
