Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services seeks a Designer to perform detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements for telecom networks. You will design GPON network layouts, collaborate with engineering and construction teams, and support field staff with safety and quality control.

The role blends office design with field validation. Responsibilities include creating designs, BOMs, and quotes, plus site walks and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (preferably civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS).
• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe. GIS is a plus. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for FTTH deployments and commercial developments.
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics.
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes.
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records.
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes.
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment.
