Government Service Designer - Design Intelligence

Job summary

Steampunk seeks a Service Designer to guide government clients through its Design Intelligence framework, applying human-centered methods to solve end-to-end organizational challenges. You will lead discovery sessions to uncover pain points and opportunities, serving as the voice of the customer throughout the proposed solution.

Responsibilities include conducting workshops, synthesizing research into insights, and creating journey maps, service blueprints, and personas for enterprise

Qualifications

• 4+ years in human-centered design, service design, or customer experience design.
• Current portfolio demonstrating ideology, methods, tools, and craft.
• Experience conducting primary and secondary research including stakeholder and user interviews, design thinking and co-creation workshops.
• Experience working on a Scrum team within an Agile delivery framework; writing user stories and story points.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Mural, and Lucidchart.
• Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree or equivalent in HCD and/or service design.

Responsibilities

• Guide government clients through our Design Intelligence framework and solve end-to-end organizational challenges.
• Lead discovery sessions uncovering customer pain points and enterprise opportunities; be the voice of the customer.
• Synthesize research to shape mission, service and workflow innovations and create a compelling future experience vision.
• Create journey maps, service blueprints, personas, ecosystem and experience maps with actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment; translate insights into design deliverables.
• Understand technology constraints and integrate research into technical considerations.
• Ensure all deliverables across projects are produced at the highest quality.
