Job summary

Steampunk seeks a Service Designer to guide government clients through our Design Intelligence™ framework, leading discovery sessions to uncover pain points and identify enterprise opportunities. You’ll be the voice of the customer, ensuring needs are addressed in proposed solutions.

As an agent of change, you’ll work on mission-driven projects, creating journey maps, service blueprints, and roadmaps while collaborating with agile teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• U.S. government security clearance eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years total experience.
• 4+ years in human-centered design or service design.
• Portfolio demonstrating ideology, methods, tools, and craft.
• Experience with primary and secondary research including stakeholder and user interviews.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile and writing user stories.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Mural, Lucidchart.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery to understand client mission, goals, stakeholders, users, and journeys.
• Conduct workshops and interviews to frame pain points and opportunities; define problems.
• Synthesize research to communicate insights shaping strategy and future experience vision.
• Create journey maps, service blueprints, personas, ecosystem maps and roadmaps.
• Collaborate on a cross-functional team within an agile environment.
• Understand tech constraints and integrate research into technical considerations.
• Ensure all deliverables are of the highest quality.
